Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu stated, during a press conference, that Petrotrans, a state-owned company, has been in bankruptcy since 2007 and that the liquidation process has been delayed for 19 years. During this time, the Romanian state has not recovered the money for the company's debts, and the only ones who have financially benefited are the liquidators, accountants, and those who have archived the documents. Gheorghiu emphasized that, since 2015, the company has been paying over 29,000 euros annually in rent for pipelines that are no longer functional. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the ongoing costs for the state and mentioned that the situation of Petrotrans is an example of the failure of state company management. She also announced that measures will be taken for other companies in insolvency, such as Remin and Minvesc, to avoid such problems in the future.
