In 2024, Romania received over 2 million foreign tourists, who spent 6.58 billion lei in the country.

In 2024, Romania had 2.178 million non-resident tourists, who spent on average 3,024.1 lei each. Business travel accounted for 49.2% of the total, generating 55.7% of spending. Almost 40.4% of tourists organized their stay on their own, most of them using airplane as a means of transportation (77.7%). In the fourth quarter, the number of tourists was 495,800, with expenditures of 1.569 billion lei. Spending on accommodation was predominant in both business and personal trips.
