On the occasion of bringing back to the country the earthly remains of the ruler Grigore Alexandru Ghica, Nicușor Dan emphasized that the history of Romania should not be perceived only through ruptures, but also through continuity. He highlighted Ghica's significant contributions to the modernization of the country, such as the abolition of censorship, the establishment of medical units, and social reforms. Dan criticized the influence of the communist regime on historical perception and proposed a "therapy through memory" to heal the wounds of the past. He called for a more serene and fair approach to history, from which we can learn for the future.
