President Nicușor Dan will be present on Saturday in Istanbul at the ceremony for the awarding of the flag to the ship HISAR 'Rear Admiral August Roman', alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to a statement from the Presidential Administration.

The ceremony will take place at the Istanbul Shipyard and marks the entry of the ship into the operational service of the Romanian Naval Forces, with plans for subsequent deployment to Romania. The corvette, produced in Turkey, will enhance Romania's surveillance and response capabilities, being intended to operate in various naval environments, including anti-submarine and air defense operations. Additionally, Nicușor Dan will discuss with Erdoğan the priorities of the bilateral Strategic Partnership, regional security, and preparations for the NATO Summit in Ankara, scheduled for July 7-8.
