Nicușor Dan greets the ceasefire agreement between the USA and Iran

President Nicușor Dan welcomed on Wednesday, through a post on X, the agreement to cease hostilities for two weeks between the United States and Iran. He emphasized the importance of a lasting solution that ensures stability and security in the region, mentioning the impact of the conflict on energy and food prices, which have reached alarming levels for families and businesses worldwide.

Dan expressed gratitude to Pakistan and other regional mediators for their efforts in facilitating this agreement. He also stated that Romania is in contact with its international partners and is ready to support ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with commitments and to facilitate diplomatic negotiations, including regarding the safety of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
