The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, donated blood at the Cotroceni Palace, alongside employees of the Presidential Administration, as part of an initiative aimed at drawing attention to the critical need for blood reserves in the medical system.
While in the Hall of Union, Dan emphasized that "blood donation saves lives" and encouraged citizens to participate in such actions, mentioning that "through simple gestures and easy-to-do actions, we can make a big difference." He also thanked colleagues and partners at the Blood Transfusion Center for their support. Official data shows that in Romania, less than 2% of the population donates blood regularly, and donors benefit from financial compensation and days off. The President reminded the necessary criteria to become a donor, highlighting the importance of this action in support of those in need.
