President Nicușor Dan had a meeting on Monday at the Cotroceni Palace with the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner.
The discussions focused on the defense of the European Union's borders and on the evaluation of Romania after joining the Schengen area.
Nicușor Dan emphasized Romania's contribution to the security of the European Union, mentioning the complex challenges the country is facing.
He thanked the commissioner for the support provided in the Schengen accession process, highlighting that the first post-accession evaluation confirmed that Romania is acting responsibly, without major deficiencies. The strategic importance of the Black Sea region for Europe's security was also emphasized.
