MAP New alerts for storms and torrential rains / Which counties are affected

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued new warnings for torrential rains and storms for July 22, and one county in Romania, Tulcea, is under a red alert starting at 6:00 PM for atmospheric instability, torrential and abundant showers, wind intensifications, and storms.

Thus, from 10:00 AM on July 22, the north and south of Oltenia, the southwest of Muntenia, the center of Moldova, the south of Transylvania, and locally in the mountainous area are under a yellow alert, with significant torrential showers, electrical discharges, wind intensifications, and storms, with gusts of 50...70 km/h.

Also from 10:00 AM, Bucharest and the counties of Tulcea, Constanța, Brăila, Galați, Vrancea, Covasna, Buzău, Prahova, Dâmbovița, Argeș, Vâlcea, Călărași, Ialomița, Ilfov, and part of Brașov have entered a heightened orange alert for atmospheric instability, which will manifest through significant torrential showers, electrical discharges, wind intensifications, and storms (with gusts of 70...90 km/h). In short intervals (1...3 hours) and through accumulation, the amounts of water will be 30...50 l/m² and in restricted areas 70...90 l/m².

From 6:00 PM, a new orange alert will come into effect until Thursday morning at 6:00 AM for the counties of Galați, Brăila, Constanța, and the east of the counties of Ialomița and Călărași. Also at 6:00 PM, Tulcea will enter a red alert for storms until Thursday morning when it is expected that the storms will decrease in intensity, and the warning will change to an orange alert.

Moreover, until Thursday, atmospheric instability, significant torrential showers, wind intensifications, and storms are expected in Muntenia, Dobrogea, the east of Oltenia, the southern half of Moldova, the southwest of Transylvania, and locally in the Eastern and Southern Carpathians.
