Deputy Alexandru Muraru, the leader of the PNL Iași branch, reacted harshly to the Constitutional Court's (CCR) decision to declare constitutional an amendment to the Integrity Law, requested by PSD and AUR, which allows for the loss of positions by local elected officials found incompatible or in a conflict of interest.
Muraru states that "no elected mandate is safe anymore," emphasizing that ANI, led by PSD, will decide who remains in office. He accuses PSD and AUR of attempts to undermine the relationships between PNL and USR, mentioning that traitors from PNL contribute to this destabilization.
The CCR amendment provides for the termination of positions for those found incompatible within 30 days of the law coming into force.
Representatives of USR, including leader Dominic Fritz, believe that this amendment directly targets him, having a final decision regarding the conflict of interest. Fritz denounced the CCR's decision as an abuse of power.
