The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Romania, Mihai Mîțu, stated that the country's accession to the European Union could be a decisive factor in resolving the Transnistrian conflict. He emphasized the intention of the authorities in Chișinău to include the population from the Transnistrian region in EU-funded projects, to provide them with direct access to the benefits of European integration.
This strategy could help bring the region closer to the rest of the country and find a sustainable solution for the Transnistrian dispute. Mîțu also highlighted Romania's constant support in the European integration process, mentioning the significant contribution of Romanian investors to the Moldovan economy, which generates over 12,000 jobs in the Republic of Moldova.
