Representatives of the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced that in 2026, 18 unauthorized drone incursions were recorded in Romanian airspace. Additionally, three drones were shot down by F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force.

Since the beginning of the war, over 100 attacks have been reported on Ukrainian territory near the border with Romania, and 33 Russian drones have violated national airspace. In 2026, 40 attacks were identified in proximity to the border, and in 34 cases, aircraft from the Air Police Combat Service were deployed.
