Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate, stated that he does not believe that Ilie Bolojan is in a precarious position, either in the leadership of PNL or at the head of the Government of Romania. He mentioned that a vote of confidence in the National Political Bureau (BPN) is a normal practice and has occurred in the past.

Abrudean acknowledged that there are internal criticisms among the liberals, but emphasized that these tensions are not new for the party. He added that, although the criticisms are undesirable, it is the right of colleagues to express their opinions. Abrudean stated that PNL continues to support the government led by Bolojan, without any votes against him being recorded in Parliament.
