Mircea Abrudean, the president of the Senate from PNL, stated that he does not intend to resign following the statements of the PSD leader, Sorin Grindeanu, who conditioned his resignation from the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies on Abrudean's stepping down from the Senate leadership. Abrudean emphasized that PNL did not generate a political crisis and that, although he has no reason to resign now, he is open to this possibility in the future.
He also mentioned that the liberals will no longer be part of a coalition with PSD, and a possible shift to opposition could be a viable solution for PNL. In the context of the censure motion submitted by PSD-AUR, which gathered 254 signatures, Abrudean highlighted that the responsibility to propose a governmental solution lies with those who wish to dismiss the government. He reminded that signatures do not guarantee the necessary votes for the government's dismissal, referring to previous experiences in Parliament.
