The partner of the President of Romania, Mirabela Grădinaru, participated in New York in discussions about the development of technologies and the measures through which they can become safer for children. The meeting took place as part of the Fostering the Future Together initiative, founded by the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.
First Ladies and First Gentlemen from several countries, government officials, and representatives of technology companies attended the meeting. The discussions focused on how new technologies can help children become better prepared for the digital world, as well as the risks to which they may be exposed.
According to the “Romania in the Spotlight” organization, artificial intelligence is already part of children’s lives, influencing the way they learn, get informed, and discover the world. Mirabela Grădinaru emphasized that, beyond technological development, children need education, guidance, and care from adults.
The dialogue in New York continues the efforts begun in March in Washington. The central message of the meeting was that technology must respond to children’s needs, while their safety and development must remain priorities.
