The Ministry of Energy declared, after the meeting of the Energy Command on August 18, that the National Energy System is stable and operates within optimal parameters, even after the shutdown of reactor 2 at the Cernavodă nuclear power plant.
The production deficit is compensated by restarting coal-based power units, maintaining high production from natural gas, and utilizing photovoltaic energy, as well as import capacities.
Representatives from the Ministry of Energy, Transelectrica, ANRE, and other specialists participated in the meeting, where they analyzed weather forecasts and production capacities.
The authorities confirmed that there are no immediate risks, and production capacities are being utilized to the maximum. Units 4 from Rovinari and the reserve from Paroșeni have been put back into operation to increase production. The Ministry assures that there will be no supply deficits in the upcoming period, constantly monitoring the situation to maintain the stability of the grid.
