The MFA's reply comes as Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov criticized the BEC's decision to invalidate the candidacy of Călin Georgescu, supported by Russia. The MFA pointed out that Russia has not had free elections for almost 20 years and recalled the expulsion of two Russian diplomats accused of having been in contact with a Romanian group accused of treason.
