METRO Group will open three new cash&carry stores in Romania, despite trends in other countries, due to local demand.

METRO, which has 30 cash&carry stores in Romania, will expand its network with three new locations, given the growing demand for this retail format. CEO Karan Khurana emphasized that, unlike other countries, Romania offers significant growth opportunities. The company will invest in expanding its delivery area and stores, with long-term expansion plans. METRO also reported a turnover of RON11.3 billion in 2024, but posted a loss of RON28 million.
