Meta says that website administrators do not need to do anything for this, since the operation will be stopped "from the source", and the place of the plugin will be taken by an invisible element.

Website administrators who still have Facebook plugins can still choose to clean up and manually remove their code.

Meta acknowledges that the reason behind the discontinuation is the decrease in the usage level of plugins in recent years.
