The authorities in Cluj have established a plan of measures following the confirmation of the avian flu virus in two dead swans found in the area of Lake Gilău-Someșu Rece. The Local Disease Control Center has approved measures for detecting and limiting cases of avian flu, considering that it affects both domestic and wild birds. Restricted zones have been established, including a 3 km protection zone around the locality of Someșu Cald and a 10 km surveillance zone that includes several localities.
Residents in these areas must adhere to strict biosecurity rules, including isolating domestic birds and prohibiting access to water from open sources. Additionally, any signs of illness in birds must be reported immediately to the veterinarian. DSVSA Cluj will monitor the implementation of these measures and will conduct clinical inspections on farms.
