The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, announced that he is requesting the insolvency of the Bucharest Transport Company (STB) as a necessary measure to ensure the payment of employees' salaries and to prevent the "city's default".

This decision comes in the context of the financial difficulties faced by STB, which affect not only the employees but also the public transport services offered to citizens, according to the mayor.

Ciucu emphasized that insolvency is a viable solution for restructuring debts and allowing for more efficient management of financial resources.

The mayor highlighted the importance of this measure for the financial stability of the city and promised that he would do everything possible to protect the interests of Bucharest residents. This request has generated varied reactions among local councilors and citizens, who are awaiting clarifications regarding the long-term impact of this decision.
