The general mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, announced on Facebook the suspension of the financial incentive of 500 lei per month for people with disabilities until 2030, in order to pay the outstanding debts to them, the total amount being 689 million lei.

The total cost of the program was approximately 26 million lei per month, resulting in a 500 lei incentive for each beneficiary. After the allocated budget funds were exhausted, payments were halted in 2025.

Ciucu takes responsibility for these payments, which will be made monthly, 250 lei for each beneficiary in the situation where the municipality has outstanding debts, meaning half of the amount set for the incentive.

Until now, the payments have been chaotic and suspended, without predictability, and the suspension of the current decision will allow for the payment of the arrears, without receiving new files until 2030.
