The Capital Police are conducting 83 searches in Bucharest and 13 counties, targeting commercial companies suspected of creating fictitious circuits for the registration of commercial operations related to waste collection. These actions are estimated to have caused a damage of approximately 237,000,000 lei.

Investigations carried out by the Economic Crime Investigation Service revealed that, between December 2021 and November 2025, 27 commercial companies reported quantities of waste significantly higher than the actual amounts, thus fraudulently obtaining sums of money.

The individuals involved have been identified and will be heard, and the police continue the investigations under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Tribunal, for crimes of fraud, forgery in documents, and money laundering.
