The Romanian Police carried out 16 searches on Sunday in Bistrița-Năsăud County, in a case of poaching and firearms offenses, targeting 11 suspects. They are believed to have used lethal weapons, some held illegally, to hunt in Bistrița-Năsăud, Maramureș, and Suceava counties.

The searches, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Năsăud Court, led to the confiscation of a hidden lethal weapon, 3 non-lethal weapons, ammunition, hunting trophies, 57 kg of game meat, and prohibited pyrotechnic articles. The police brought in 8 men aged between 17 and 62 for questioning, and investigations continue to document the criminal activities. The operation was supported by gendarmes from the county.
