Over 1100 people were evacuated on Friday from the beaches of the Romanian coastline following the explosion of a maritime drone in the Port of Constanța, announced representatives of the Dobrogea Emergency Situations Inspectorate.
"Thus, 300 people were evacuated from Costinești beach, 50 people were evacuated from Tuzla beach, and 355 people from the beaches in Eforie Nord and Sud. Another 400 people were evacuated from the beaches in Mangalia – the Saturn Venus cordon, Cap Aurora.
Access routes to the beaches were blocked by the Local Police. The evacuations taking place are preventive. So far, approximately 100 people have been evacuated from the beach in Sulina, approximately 50 people from the beach in Sfântu Gheorghe, and approximately 50 people from the Gura Portiței area," DSU specified.
