Marian Godină jumped to the defense of the gendarme who fined activist Marian Rădună, the organizer of the march in memory of the victims of Colectiv. Godină emphasized that the gendarme acted according to the law, interpreting the event as a public gathering, since Rădună decided who was allowed to participate. He criticized the leadership of the Romanian Gendarmerie for publicly apologizing without understanding the real context of the situation.
Godină mentioned that, although people remained for a moment of silence, the appearance of other participants complicated things. He also condemned the negative reaction of the public towards the gendarme, stating that the attacks against him are unjustified and that solidarity must be maintained.
