The Romanian Gendarmerie announced that it will carry out checks following the 3,000 lei fine imposed on the organizer of the commemoration of the victims from Colectiv, Marian Rădună, for exceeding the 11:00 PM deadline stipulated in the event protocol.

The NGO Corruption Kills emphasized that, according to Law 60/1991, it is not necessary to notify the authorities for commemorations. The Gendarmerie acknowledged that, although the law must be applied strictly, it is important to understand the spirit of the law, which aims to protect the rights of citizens. The institution stated that the observing agent might not have understood the emotional context of the event. The checks will analyze whether the fine was justified and proportional, and the Gendarmerie reaffirmed its support for the victims of the Colectiv club tragedy.
