A man from Bihor has been remanded in custody for the intentional killing of a dog, which he hanged and then threw into the Crișul Pietros.

The incident took place on July 20, 2025, when the man hanged a common-breed dog using a plastic rope and dumped its body on the banks of the Criș Pietros, in the Zăvoaie area. The Public Prosecutor's Office at Beiuș District Court opened an investigation for the crime of killing animals and the man was detained for 24 hours and subsequently remanded in custody by Beiuș District Court.
