On August 21, a man entered the A1 highway at kilometer 392, traveling from Ilia towards Sebeș, in the wrong lane, against the flow of traffic. The incident lasted 40 minutes, during which the police received 19 calls to 112. Due to the slow speed and the wrong direction, the man even reached the second lane, designated for fast vehicles.

The police coordinated the intervention from a distance, slowing down traffic from tens of kilometers away to prevent an accident. Two teams acted simultaneously: one slowed down traffic, while the other moved quickly to intercept the man. The intervention was successful, and the man was stopped without causing any casualties. He was fined 1,946.25 lei for driving on the highway with a tricycle, and the police remind that access for slow vehicles is prohibited on highways. Drivers are advised to call 112 in case of obstacles on the highway.
