A man from Galați was arrested for killing a dog he received from a neighbor, sending her a photograph of the animal hanging.

A 37-year-old man from the Cavadinești commune, Galați County, has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days, accused of killing a dog by hanging. The incident was reported on October 27 by a 70-year-old woman, who had given her dog for adoption to the man because the animal had attacked the birds in her yard. Shortly after the adoption, the woman received a photo on her phone showing the dog hanging from a tree near the man's home.

The police found the dog's corpse abandoned 50 meters from the site of the alleged crime. The man was initially detained for 24 hours and was later placed in preventive detention. Investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the act, under the coordination of the case prosecutor.
