A 48-year-old man from Focșani is being investigated for the killing of pigeons, after he posted the footage on social media.

A 48-year-old man from the municipality of Focșani is being investigated by the police after he filmed and published on social media the moment he killed pigeons. On January 13, the Animal Protection Office within the IPJ Vrancea took notice of the case and began investigations to identify the author.

The man stated that he sacrificed the pigeons to consume them later. According to sources, he killed the pigeons with his hands, filming himself during the act. Currently, investigations are underway to establish all the circumstances of the act, and the man risks between 2 and 7 years in prison if found guilty of animal killing, according to Law no. 205/2004 on animal protection.
