Buzău: Man arrested preventively after being stabbed seven times by a 74-year-old neighbor who refused his sexual advances.

A 51-year-old man from Buzău County has been placed in preventive detention for attempted murder, after he allegedly stabbed his 74-year-old neighbor seven times because she refused to maintain sexual relations with him.

The incident occurred on July 1, 2026, when the man went to the home of his neighbor, a 74-year-old retiree, in the locality of Vâlcele. Prosecutors established that after she refused to engage in sexual relations with him, the man physically assaulted her, stabbing her seven times in the neck and shoulder area. The victim suffered severe lacerations, and the authorities intervened quickly.

The Buzău Tribunal decided to place the defendant in preventive detention. The case is still under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Buzău Tribunal.
