The police in Neamț launched an investigation against a 46-year-old man who posed as a priest and solicited money from the faithful. He was caught while collecting prayer lists with sums of money. During the search conducted on him, four 500 euro banknotes with the inscription "PROP COPY", two 20 pound banknotes, five one dollar banknotes, as well as other sums of money were found.

In his car, the police discovered 24 prayer lists with different amounts, an irritating tear gas spray, and priestly clothing items. The man was taken for questioning, and the police opened a criminal case for fraud.
