A man arrested in Bucharest after allegedly causing several fires in the area of Iuliu Maniu Boulevard

A 39-year-old man was detained by police, suspected of causing several fires in the area of Iuliu Maniu Boulevard, behind a supermarket, at a waste bin and at a motorcycle.

The Capital Police were notified on Friday via the emergency number 112 regarding these incidents. One of the fires affected the shopping carts behind a store, spreading to the insulation of a block, but the supermarket was not affected. ISU crews quickly intervened to extinguish the fires, including the one at the parked motorcycle and the one at the waste bin.

The man was detained for 24 hours, and investigations continue under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Sector 6 Court, investigating the crime of destruction.
