Diana Buzoianu, the Minister of the Environment, discussed the future of Romanian beaches, emphasizing that Romanians spent 11 billion euros on vacations abroad last year due to dissatisfaction with the conditions on the coast.

Changes will begin in Năvodari, where a public procurement was launched for the rental of beach lands, clearly establishing the conditions for building beach bars. Buzoianu mentioned that the ministry has identified over 4,000 illegal constructions on the coast, some of which have already been demolished.

The new specifications impose criteria that will ensure more spacious beaches and cultural, creative, or digital activities, avoiding overcrowding with sun loungers.

Additionally, for the first time, accessibility criteria for people with disabilities have been introduced, ensuring that all tourists have space to enjoy the beach.
