Maia Sandu, the president of the Republic of Moldova, will be present on Sunday at the consecration ceremony of the painting of the National Cathedral in Bucharest, according to officials from Chișinău. The ceremony will be officiated by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople and Patriarch Daniel of the Romanian Orthodox Church, together with a assembly of 65 hierarchs, 70 priests, and 12 deacons.
2,500 official guests are expected at the event, while another 8,000 people will be able to watch the service on screens set up in the square in front of the Cathedral. Access is allowed only for organized groups of pilgrims, while other believers will be able to view the service from outside the complex. Additionally, Maia Sandu will have a meeting with the mayor of Bucharest, Nicușor Dan, during her visit.
