The MAI has requested the transfer of 2,200 square meters of Revolution Square, which includes the Monument to the Heroes of the Revolution, to carry out maintenance and conservation works. The ministry emphasized that public access will not be restricted and that the project does not cover the entire square. The MAI plans to create a green space around the monument. The project has been withdrawn from the agenda of the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest to allow a transparent public debate. The interim mayor reaffirmed that Revolution Square must remain an open and accessible space.
