The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) has identified and intervened to block a site that clones the official page of the new electronic identity card. MAI emphasizes that the only official site is https://carteadeidentitate.gov.ro, built on the .gov.ro domain, and any other page on different domains may be an attempt at fraud. This action was taken to protect citizens from possible scams.
