Minister of Development, Cseke Attila Cseke, has announced reform measures in local government, which involve cutting more than 40,000 jobs, saving 2.2 billion lei annually. The cuts target both central staff and local police. The aim of these measures is to increase the revenues of local authorities and to streamline their structure, in the context of anticipated financial difficulties. The cuts will affect more institutions with full organizational charts.
