A lawyer from Bucharest is being investigated for promoting fascist ideology and inciting hatred on ethnic grounds.

A lawyer is being investigated for crimes related to the promotion of fascist and legionary ideology, as well as incitement to hatred based on ethnic criteria. On June 25, 2026, prosecutors conducted three searches at the suspect's residences in Bucharest.

He is accused of distributing fascist and racist materials via the internet, as well as promoting the cult of individuals convicted of war crimes. Investigators mention that, in January 2026, the lawyer published a video on Facebook in which he performed the specific salute of the Legionary Movement. Additionally, in April 2026, he publicly praised individuals convicted of war crimes and promoted messages of hatred against the Jewish community. Following the searches, publications and symbolic objects related to legionary ideology were seized. The lawyer was detained for 24 hours, and the Prosecutor's Office emphasizes the respect for procedural rights during the investigation.
