The landslide occurred in the Tismana sector of the Rovinari Mining Unit (UMC) on Sunday morning and was caused by the heavy rainfall in recent days.
The landslide affected a southeast slope over a length of approximately 300 meters and a height of 25 meters, but no casualties were reported. The T2 and T11 belt conveyors, used by excavators 07 and 05, were affected. The Oltenia Energy Complex (CEO) has set up a technical committee to investigate the circumstances of the landslide and assess the technical aspects involved. Coal production was affected by approximately 2,000 tons; however, the operation of the Rovinari power plant is not compromised, and the decision was made to supplement coal deliveries from other quarries.
