Klaus Iohannis, the former president of Romania, has been released from the seizure of his assets, after the Alba Court of Appeal rejected the request of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) in the case of the one million euro debt, considering it unfounded. ANAF wanted to ensure that it would recover the amounts owed by Iohannis and his wife, Carmen, representing the rent collected for a property in Sibiu, which was lost in court and has entered the state's assets. Although the seizure was rejected, Iohannis remains obligated to pay 4.7 million lei, an amount that includes interest and penalties. The confiscated property requires repairs, and the debt recovery process is expected to be long and complicated.
