ANAF Bucharest has been placed under judicial seizure for 50 vehicles, following its refusal to execute a final ruling requiring the state to pay nearly 1.8 million lei to a company from Petroșani, VISA SA.

The litigation, which has lasted for more than a decade, began in 2015 when the company signed a contract with the Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE) for Romania's participation in the international fair TUTTO FOOD Milan. Although the courts established the obligation to pay, ANAF and the Treasury invoked internal administrative orders to avoid execution. The company's lawyer, Gheorghe Vîlceanu, emphasized that internal orders cannot contradict the Civil Procedure Code. After the summonses from the bailiff were ignored, VISA SA sued ANAF, and the courts accepted the request to validate the seizure.

The seizure includes new vehicles and special vehicles, and if payment is not made, forced execution could continue on other assets of the institution.
