The president of UDMR, Kelemen Hunor, asked the authorities to provide explanations regarding the incident in which a Russian drone hit an apartment building in Galați, injuring two people and evacuating several families. Hunor emphasized that the state has the obligation to protect its citizens and questioned why the drone was not intercepted in time. He condemned the war waged by Russia but highlighted that, four years after the start of the conflict, Romania's air defense system is not functioning properly. Hunor stated that it is unacceptable for drones to fly unhindered over Romanian territory and called for concrete measures to prevent the recurrence of such serious incidents.
