Dozens of people were evacuated from a school in Petroșani after an irritating gas was sprayed, and ten students required medical attention.

An emergency situation occurred on Friday at General School No. 2 in Petroșani, Hunedoara County, where tear gas was sprayed, causing the evacuation of dozens of people. Firefighters and SMURD ambulance crews intervened quickly, finding that 20 people, both students and adults, had self-evacuated, while another 57 were evacuated by the crews.

Ten students, aged between 7 and 15 years, needed medical attention for nasal irritations and mild cough, with eight of them being transported to UPU Petroșani for reevaluation. The police have initiated investigations, establishing that a student may have been responsible for spraying the irritant spray in the school hallway. He was taken to the headquarters of the Petroșani Municipal Police to take the necessary legal measures.
