Ion Iliescu, former President of Romania, will be buried on Thursday, with military honors, at the Ghencea III Military Cemetery. The ceremony will begin at the Cotroceni Palace, with a religious ceremony and the ceremony of the Guard. The coffin will be transported on a cannon schooner and the honors will be presented at the cemetery entrance. Thursday has been declared a national day of mourning. Iliescu, who died at the age of 95, served as head of state between 1990-1992, 1992-1996 and 2000-2004.
