Local police officers will be able to issue traffic fines to users of electric scooters, according to a law promulgated by President Iohannis.

The law gives the local police powers to detect and sanction traffic offenses committed by pedestrians, cyclists, mopeds, electric scooters and animal-drawn vehicles. These changes are motivated by the danger to which road users are exposed due to the use of these vehicles.
