The interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated that if public funds had not been wasted, hundreds of investments could have been made, such as overpasses and bridges, each year. He presented the expenses of the Chancellery for the first half of 2024, highlighting a saving of over 20 million lei, equivalent to over 4 million euros, which could have been used for infrastructure construction.
Bolojan emphasized that by limiting waste and properly managing resources, public authorities could achieve significant savings. Additionally, Mihai Jurca, head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, estimated a reduction in expenses of over 48% this year compared to 2024. Bolojan stated that an efficient government must respect the contributions of citizens by responsibly using public funds.
