The National Liberal Party (PNL) says that the period during which the government was led by Ilie Bolojan demonstrated that Romania can be governed through fiscal responsibility, competence and respect for public funds. In a post published on Facebook, the party stated that waste was reduced and public finances were managed with greater care.
PNL says that, during the Bolojan government, citizens’ interests were placed ahead of privileges and unfunded promises. The Liberals argue that this direction should also be maintained by future governments, without specifying in the message a series of concrete measures or savings achieved.
The party advocates for a government with a clear direction, made up of competent people and capable of seeing its commitments through to the end. According to PNL, public funds should be directed toward areas such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, local communities and investments that create jobs.
The Liberals say that responsibility, competence and respect for public funds should be basic criteria for any future executive. The message comes amid debates over how public finances should be managed and the priorities of the next governments. According to PNL, the guarantee that this policy will continue should be the maintenance of a coherent direction and completed projects, not merely announced ones.
