The foresters from the locality of Bixad, Covasna County, alerted the authorities after encountering a suspicious man, fearing that he could be Emil Gânj, accused of having killed his former girlfriend and wanted for 8 months. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when a forester and a friend noticed an unknown person who fled at the sight of them. Four other witnesses confirmed the suspicious behavior of the man, who avoided interaction and hid in the forest.
Following this alert, the authorities mobilized over 200 police officers, gendarmes, and mountain rescuers to comb an area of 1,500 hectares of forest. Drones with thermal imaging were also used to search for the suspect's traces. So far, the identity of the man remains unknown, and the searches continue without results.
