Between June 2 and September 11, 21 cases of West Nile virus infection were recorded in Romania, mostly in elderly individuals.

The National Institute of Public Health announced 21 cases of infection with the West Nile virus, of which 20 were confirmed, during the period from June 2 to September 11. The most cases were recorded in Bucharest (8). Specialists recommend avoiding exposure to mosquitoes by wearing appropriate clothing and using repellents.
